When Smith retired in 2004 he began to explore real estate at a deeper level, finally founding his own company in 2014, E Smith Realty Partners. The former Cowboy running back has since left his namesake company and partnered with Newmark Group in order to focus on commercial brokerage services to enjoy even more success in the industry.

Hakeem Olajuwon

This Nigerian-born Houston Rockets star has quietly succeeded in real estate for the past 15 years. With the mentality of “buy high and sell higher” Olajuwon has turned real estate on its head focusing on expensive fully-developed land. According to The Guardian, the former NBA Champion has managed to double his money, with 25 transactions exceeding $100 million.

Roger Staubach

In the 70s, this Heisman Trophy winner played for the Dallas Cowboys but worked in real estate in the offseason. In 1977, Staubach started his own agency called the Staubach Company in order to support his growing family. By early 2000, the company had 50 offices across North America and 1,100 employees. After selling the company in 2008, the former NFL star walked away with $640 million but was sure to share the wealth with the people who helped him build the business.

In 2013 the team bought a Beverly Hills mansion for $7 million and sold it for $24 million, more than the actor makes in the Marvel films.
